Health
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great week! This week I'm going to talk about the importance of having a healthy metabolism, and how to build and keep it!
I believe the one thing that has always worked for me is to always have three meals a day, it’s important to keep eating regularly throughout the day, and eat enough! If you don’t eat, or you space meals out too far, your body will store more fat. I believe it’s important to eat and keep your metabolism working at all times, just choose the right kinds of foods. If you’re trying to lose weight, eat more protein and vegetables, low carb. If you’re just trying to maintain weight, you can definitely have some carbs. Examples of good carbs that I love - sweet potatoes, quinoa, brown rice, beans, lentils, black rice. These are some of my favorites, and for more specifics on what I eat on a day to day, read the It’s a Situation blog post from week 2!
Some tips on how to naturally increase your metabolism, keeping you overall more healthy...
1. Eat at regular times
2. Eat enough food
3. Green Tea
4. Resistance training (in addition to cardio), and HIIT workouts (see week 1)
5. Drink enough water
6. Get enough sleep
7. Vitamin B
Travel
Last week I talked about my trip to the Ashram in Malibu for a mind, body, and soul reset before heading back to Dallas from a crazy summer.
My next trip was to one of my favorite places in the world, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I am SO beyond excited that my daughter Sofia is considering this beautiful town for her wedding! My daughter and I were there for four nights and five days to scope out venues for her wedding. It is such a romantic town and there is so much to do! It has become one of the number one places for destination weddings in Mexico. However, there is no beach, it’s a colonial little town, and it is so so charming.
Being from Mexico and growing up there this is such an amazing, quaint, very traditional little town and you do not want to miss it. The town has so many amazing restaurants, so much authentic food, rooftops, places to eat, and a ton of amazing little boutique hotels.
Some of my favorite places to stay are the Matilda Hotel, Live Aqua, the Rosewood San Miguel, and L’Hotel. These are a few out of so many to choose from, they have a different boutique hotel for every budget.
Some of my favorite restaurants in San Miguel are Casa Unica, La Lavanda, Carajillo, and Quince. You can expect to find food that is traditional, authentic Mexican food!
The other must-do in San Miguel, you have to go get sunset drinks at the Rosewood patio restaurant!
San Miguel is magical, and will always be one of my favorite places ever. Next week I'm telling you all about my first trip going to Boston and Nantucket!
Favorites
Another one of my favorite #KAMObyKary pieces that I love are my stacks! I use so many different stones that have so many different properties that are beneficial and I love wearing different stacks for whatever mood I’m in or whatever I need in my life. For example, Black Onyx symbolizes strength & stamina, Blue Lapis symbolizes truth & authenticity, and Aquamarine symbolizes courage & tolerance, just to name a few. All of the Alex Stacks come with a stack of either 3 or 4 bracelets, one with a charm. In my KAMO Alex collection, you can definitely find a stack for any outfit, and you can shop the signature stacks below!
Another favorite brand of mine that everyone asks me about is my eye cream. My favorite eye cream that I cannot live without is the Kiehls Avocado Eye Cream. I am just obsessed with it, I put a big glob under each eye and I just let it soak in, every morning and every night. It’s great for wrinkles, puffiness, anti-aging. It is amazing, hydrating, avocado eye cream. Let me know if you try it how you like it!
I hope you enjoyed my It's a Situation post for this week, please email me back and let me know if there are any specific topics you’d like me to talk about! Have an amazing week, and I will talk to you next week! If you're looking for previous weeks' posts, find them on the KAMO by Kary website.
